SEOUL, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - The trade surplus in South Korea reached an estimated US$320 million in January, up $750 million on the year before, according to the Commerce, Industry and Energy Ministry.
Exports increased 5 per cent in January from a year earlier to US$12.79 billion, while imports decreased 1 per cent to $12.47 billion, a ministry official said.
A rise in the trade surplus contributes to more exports of ships, telecommunications equipment and machinery and lower oil prices, he noted.
