MANILA, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - New Philippines-Australian joint venture Contact World has officially opened its Manila operations at Wynsum Corporate Plaza in Pasig City.
Contact World, a new concept in teleservices and call center applications, was created through a joint venture between ePLDT, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PLDT, a world class telecommunications provider and Salmat.
Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company holds a 51 per cent share in the US$6 million company, and Salmat, Australia's largest customer communications company, holds 49 per cent.
Contact World offers organizations the benefit of running operations 24 hours a day. As a business day ends in an organization's home country, its operation can automatically and seamlessly switch over to Contact World's global call center.
"Contact World offers the advantage of time zone differences, bulk international call rates, cutting edge technology and a skilled local workforce. Basically, a more profitable way to connect with customers," said Phil Murphy, operations manager of Contact World's new center.
While the operation is starting with 200 seats in the Manila-based call center, it has the capability to significantly scale up at short notice by bringing in standby operators from PLDT or switching over to multiple contact centers as overflow demands.
Through Salmat, Contact World has a further workstation capacity of 600 in Australia.
