DUBAI, UAE, Jan. 31 /PRNewswire Asia-AsiaNet/ -- Asia4Sale.com Inc.'s (OTC Bulletin Board: AFSI) heavy equipment auction subsidiary, World Wide Auctioneers Inc. (WWA), is preparing for their first major auction of 2001 to take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Scheduled for March 19 & 20, the unreserved heavy equipment auction features construction, marine, industrial and transportation equipment. It is expected that this first auction will surpass the US$11 million in equipment and vehicles projected to be sold at each auction in 2001.
"We are very happy with the continuing success of WWA, which is our newest subsidiary," said Brian Hodgson, President of AFSI. WWA is also using the Internet to live broadcast this first auction, making it possible to view equipment and place absentee bids without attending the auction. WWA will use its web presence, with some of the shopping cart technology developed by Asia4sale.com for their "EtailerPRO" product, to further widen the audience searching and trading all types of industrial equipment. A preliminary list of items consigned to the Dubai auction is available on the company's web site www.wwauctions.com.
Initial consignments and bidder registrations for the Dubai auction indicate excellent response from the industry. Buyers from all over the world have confirmed attendance, with over 50 per cent of buyers expected to come from outside the Middle East region. "We are pleased with the good condition of equipment coming into the yard, and the diversity of items available," said Carl van Lieshout, President of WWA.
