BEIJING, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - China's State Power Corporation will spend 35 billion yuan (US$4.23 billion) on building and transforming 241 urban power grids this year.
It will build 85 per cent of its urban power grid projects, and complete the construction of 180 urban power grid projects this year.
The corporation plans to increase its sales volume of power via urban power grids by 9 per cent this year, and guarantee the qualification rate of local urban voltage to reach 96 per cent, and the rate of reliability of power supply to urban households to reach 99.9 per cent.
A total investment of 68 billion yuan had been used in upgrading 241 urban power grids in China by the end of 2000, accounting for 56 per cent of the total investment approved.
