SYDNEY, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - After it reported 65 per cent greater first half operating losses of $A129 million ($US70.38 million), shares in the Murdoch-Packer backed One.Tel Ltd (ASX:ONE) dropped another two cents.
The junior telecom company forecast a further $66 million loss in the second half, bringing its total operating loss after tax for 2000/01 to $193 million.
The forecast was in line with the company's earlier predictions.
One.Tel today released its unaudited figures for the six months ending December 12, 2001. The first half operating loss compared to a $78 million loss in the same period last year.
EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) for the first half almost doubled on the same period last year to $101 million.
One.Tel forecast EBITDA to turn positive in the second half of this financial year, with a gain of $10 million. This would give the telco a full year EBITDA loss of $91 million.
One.Tel forecast positive EBITDA of $242 million for 2001/02 and operating loss after tax of $100 million.
