Bullying usually starts small, with a tease or a shove. But school safety experts say it can grow into bigger forms of intimidation and possibly violence.
"If you don't address it and the kids don't know how to handle stress, they explode," said Jan Sumner, safe schools specialist for Manatee County's public schools.
