Harriett M. Blackmon

Harriett McGarry Blackmon, 53, Sarasota, died Jan. 28, 2001.

She was born Oct. 31, 1947, in Chattanooga, Tenn., and came to Sarasota 14 years ago from Huntington Beach, Calif. She worked as a senior companion.

Survivors include her husband, Boyce H.; two daughters, Leslie K. McGarry and Cynthia L., both of Sarasota; two sons, Eric H. of Sarasota and Steven C. of Venice Beach, Calif.; and a grandchild.

A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel.

Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 1750 17th St., Suite A, Sarasota, FL 34234; or to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.

Robert O. Blanchard

Robert O. Blanchard, 91, Sarasota, died Jan. 30, 2001.

He was born May 15, 1909, in Davenport, Ia., and came to Sarasota 20 years ago from New York. He was a retired data processing manager with IBM. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1930 in Hanover, N.H. She was a member of Church of the Redeemer Episcopal in Sarasota, Dartmouth Alumni Club, Sarasota, and Briarcliff Manor Masonic Lodge 1155 in Ossining, N.Y.

Survivors include two sons, Roy H. of Philadelphia and Mark W. of Orford, N.H.; a brother, Webster E. of Southbury, Conn.; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Church of the Redeemer Episcopal in Sarasota. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is in charge.

Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1230 S. Tuttle Ave., Sarasota, FL 34239.

Chester Bojan

Chester "Bo" Bojan, 80, Englewood, died Jan. 28, 2001.

He was born Feb. 3, 1920, in Utica, N.Y., and came to Englewood in 1985 from Ramsey, N.J. He retired as facilities engineer for the U.S. Postal Service. Previously, he was an aerospace engineer for Curtiss Wright Corp. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Sophia; a daughter, Ann Elizabeth Lotka of Modesto, Calif.; two sons, Jay of Kildeer, Ill., and Carl of Hillsboro, Mo.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. National Cremation Society, Port Charlotte Chapter, is in charge.

Virginia Calhoun

Virginia Calhoun, 86, Sarasota, died Jan. 29, 2001.

She was born Nov. 21, 1914, in Bay City, Mich., and came to Sarasota in 1958 from Alpena, Mich. She retired as supervisor of records for the clerk of the court and worked for the state of Florida with Guardian Ad Litem Program for eight years. She was a member of Church of the Incarnation.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Earp of Highlands, N.C., and Mary Beth of Sarasota; three sons, Robert R. and Michael K., both of Sarasota, and Gerald T. of Phoenix; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
