SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 2001

American TeleSource International, Inc. "ATSI" (AMEX:AI) is scheduled to host a conference call on Friday, February 2, 2001 to discuss the proposals contained in the Company's preliminary Proxy Statement, which was filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission last week.

ATSI shareholders will be asked to vote on these seven proposals in conjunction with the Company's Annual Meeting of Stockholders to be held in San Antonio, Texas. The exact meeting date has not yet been determined. ATSI will also provide an update on the Company's progress and open the call for a question and answer period.
