When the dog and cat are shedding their winter coats, when guests are coming and there's no time to vacuum, when the ceiling fans and vents need dusting but you dread the dust shower that results, Pledge Grab-It, by SC Johnson, and Procter & Gamble's Swiffer may help.
The dust cloths, made of polyester and polypropylene, are for hard surfaces including wood, ceramic, and vinyl floors; car dashboards; and those electronic dust-magnets, TV and computer screens. You can use them like a dust cloth, or attach them to a mop handle (sold separately) to do floors. Both products are made to be used dry, without furniture polish or cleaners, and rely on "electrostatic action" to collect dust, dirt, and hair. When the dirty work is done, you toss the cloth.
