PF Kevin Garnett has kept his word about not giving up on the Timberwolves. The leading scorer in 10 consecutive games in December, he is a double-double machine, had a triple-double against the Pistons and was just shy of another against the Hawks. It's a good thing Garnett is consistent because SG Chauncey Billups and PG Terrell Brandon can't seem to put together any sort of streak.
WHO'S NOT
Losing to the worst team in the league means someone on the Spurs gets to be the goat this week. It's SG Derek Anderson. He was third in scoring for the Spurs against the Bulls, with 15 points. But he was inept on defense as SG Ron Mercer burned him for 33 points--24 in the second half. Anderson also missed a jumper with 30 seconds left in the 105-104 loss at the United Center.
