Until last Sunday's must-win victory over the Saints (and a little help from the Bears), the Rams were on the verge of becoming just the third team to ride the ultimate roller-coaster: fail to make the playoffs one season, win the Super Bowl the next, and then fail to make the playoffs again. Considering their stunning offensive statistics (No. 1 in points scored and yards produced) and woeful defensive numbers (No. 31 in points allowed and 23rd in yards permitted), it's no surprise the Rams are the first team in NFL history to exceed 1,000 in combined points scored and allowed in one season.
