The Tampa Bay Bucs might want to take a few pointers from the Sarasota High girls' basketball team on how to play in cold-weather games.

The Bucs were eliminated from the NFL playoffs last Sunday when they lost their 20th straight game played in temperatures below 40 degrees.

The Sarasota High gym felt like an Arctic sub-station on Thursday night with many fans bundled up and players blowing into their hands to keep their fingers warm.

But the Lady Sailors refused to let the elements affect their play and rolled to a 55-40, Class 5A-12 victory over Port Charlotte.

The triumph improved Sarasota to 14-1 overall and 5-0 in the district while …
