LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ --
Inviso Inc., a leading developer of microdisplays and systems for mobile information access, today announced that it has won a Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2001 Innovations Award for the company's eShades(TM), a notebook accessory designed like stylish sunglasses that provides a comfortable and completely private "big screen" viewing experience. The CES 2001 Innovations Award is sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America.
Attendees of the 2001 International CES, held today through Tuesday, Jan. 9, can see the eShades and other winning product entries in the Innovations 2001 design contest on display in the Silver Pavilion outside the Las Vegas Convention Center. As the most widely renowned consumer technology awards program, Innovations recognizes the best designed and engineered products in a number of categories, including mobile electronics, personal electronics and video and wireless communications. A preeminent panel of journalists, designers and engineers judged the more than 600 product entries.
"We're very honored that the Consumer Electronics Show has selected us for this prestigious award," said Joy Weiss, CEO of Inviso. "Inviso's eShades are an excellent example of innovation in display technology and optical design, offering users originally formatted rich content at a high level of quality and clarity as well as giving them privacy, true portability and flexibility.
