SEOUL, Jan 2 Asia Pulse - The Information and Communication Ministry announced its master plan for digital broadcasting Tuesday, saying that over 200 channels and 4 million digital broadcasting receivers will be provided by 2005.
The ministry also estimated that the nation will export US$10 billion worth of the receivers and $20 billion worth of other related equipment over the next five years.
Commercial satellite broadcasting will be available nationwide by 2005, ending analogue broadcasts by 2010, the ministry said.
A low interest loan will be extended to help cover the cost of relaying facilities, and customs on equipment imports will be cut.
