Generation Gap
I recently bought a Pioneer PL-L1000 turntable via an e-bay auction. The table is in excellent condition. The packing for shipping was first rate. The table was shipped with the transit screws in place along with the plastic shims for securing the tonearm! There is a Shure Type V15-MR cartridge included. I checked the stylus with a microscope and it appears to be unused. I suspect the table has had very little if any use. All this for $165.00 total cost! What a wonderful piece of precision, vintage audio gear. The table was set up and adjusted in no time and the operation is flawless.
My teenage son heard me listening to some LP's and came into the room to join me, not knowing that I was listening to records. When he realized the sound was coming from a record, he paid it the highest compliment a teenager who has grown up in the digital age could pay. He said, "WOW! That sounds as good as a CD!" I thought you would get a smile out of this, so I wanted to pass it along to you.
I continue to enjoy The Sensible Sound immensely. What a refreshing publication you have always been.
