IRAN EXPORTS 1 MLN SQ M OF PROCESSED STONE ANNUALLY.
TEHRAN, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - Deputy head of the Union of Producers and Exporters of Mineral Products said here on Tuesday that out of 30 million square meters of different stones the union produces each year, one million square meters are exported abroad.
"The remaining 29 million square meters, because of being substandard, are used domestically," Ja'far Erza told IRNA.
He noted that for the time being, some 5,000 stone-producing workshops and factories are active throughout the country, adding, "by providing factories with necessary funds as well as trained manpower, the country can double its production and export of stones."
