THE STAR
- Hot on the heels of its getting a backdoor listing via a reverse takeover of Kedah Cement Holdings Bhd, EON Bank Bhd is now all geared up to buy two stockbroking companies--Sime Securities Sdn Bhd and Leong & Co Sdn Bhd.
- Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is conducting a feasibility study on joint development of a hydro-powered dam in Pahang with Tokyo Electric Power Co of Japan.
- Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has reported a higher pre-tax profit of RM1.92bil for the nine months to May 31 compared with RM1.46bil in the previous corresponding period.
- The KLSE Composite Index (CI) ended July just a whisker away from the 660-point level, ending a month which saw the barometer index gaining 12.5 per cent, making the KLSE easily one of the best performing bourses in the region.
- IJM Corp Bhd has formed Swarna Tollway Pte Ltd as the concessionaire company to implement its expressway project in India.
