DENPASAR, Bali, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - Indonesia's exports in 2001 are expected to grow 15 per cent from a year earlier, helped by the improving competitive edge of the country's commodities in the global market, an official has said.
"We have a great chance of increasing foreign exchange earnings since the competitive edge of our products in the global market is getting better," Director General for International Trade, Hatanto Reksodipoetro, said Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters after opening the workshop "Agreement on Agriculture (AoA)-WTO", Hatanto said the improving competitive edge is the result of the good quality of various commodities.
He said the number of export commodities, including electronics would also increase, thus raising the country's export earnings.
