TAIPEI, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - Taiwan's biggest-ever computer show catering to domestic consumers is to open Wednesday in Taipei amid optimism that the worldwide computer industry may turn around before the end of the year.
Raff Liu, chairman of the Taipei Computer Association, which organized the annual exhibition, held a news conference Tuesday to introduce the show to mass media and cited the prediction made by Intel President Craig Barrett Monday in Taipei that the world's information industry is expected to recover before the end of the year after experiencing a slowdown in the first two quarters.
