NEW DELHI, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - The European Union has initiated anti-subsidy proceedings against imports of Sulphanilic acid from India.
The proceedings have been initiated on the basis of a complaint received by the EU in May 2001, alleging that Indian producers are being benefitted from a number of subsidies granted by the government of India.
In its notice of initiation the EU said, "the commission has received a complaint...alleging that imports of Sulphanilic acid, originating in India are being subsidised and are thereby causing material injury to the community industry".
