Dassault Systemes has launched Release 7 of Carla Version 5, which includes products from the company's new P3 platform, a designation for high-end, industry-specific tools. The P3 products feature a new interface that allows commands to work in parallel, permitting the user to access multiple types of functions simultaneously rather than repeatedly entering and leaving command functions during modeling. Users can combine P3 and P2 (design engineering) products, and choose their preferred interface. Catia Version 5 Release 7 is also available for the company's P1 (small and mid-size business) category.

One of the new P3 products is Automotive Class A 3, an advanced surfacing module designed for the auto industry that allows users to parametrically define fillets with features to be maintained during changes.
