Abstract
The assignment and theoretical basis delineated below was designed for use in an English Methods course, but it could also be used in an Education and Culture course, an Educational Psychology course, or a senior secondary education seminar. One of the goals for designing this assignment was to sensitize students enrolled in the course to a challenge they were certain to encounter during their student teaching internships: intolerant attitudes among the adolescents they would be teaching. In particular, the assignment focuses on gender bias and homophobia.
