Abstract

Many colleges are using First-Year seminars to ease the transition to college for high school students and enhance student retention. Many topics in First-Year courses are relevant to the business curricula. This paper describes how some issues covered in a generic student success course--personal responsibility, motivation, self-esteem, time management, decision-making, teamwork and communication skills--were adapted to management education.
