The former Kodak building on a 3.4-acre fee-simple site bordering Kapiolani Boulevard and Kamakee Street will likely be demolished some time next week, according to commercial real estate broker Douglas Pothul, who handled the sale of the property last year. The sale closed escrow this week.

Thomas Sorensen, owner of Inspiration Furnishings store in Pearlridge Shopping Center, purchased the property last year from Japan-owned F.J. Finance Inc. for $13.5 million. Sorensen already owns the adjacent property that housed the former Flamingo Chuckwagon restaurant. He paid $4.9 million for the property in 1999.
