More bagless uprights. The market is expanding for bagless models, which capture dirt and dust in plastic bins. But most bins hold less than bags, and they can stir up dust and allergens when emptied. And as with some vacs with bags, their filters must be replaced regularly and can be expensive.
Better bagless performance. Bagless vacs are improving. The newly tested Hoover WindTunnel Bagless U5720-900 is the first to excel in our carpet test. But the best performers overall remain those with a bag.
