Every now and then I am asked if I have any advice for Bass players. Here, I have come up with 10 basic principles to keep in mind while on your journey down the "low road." Next issue, "Why Bass Players Shouldn't Get a Mic..."
1 Play BASS
This sounds simple. On the surface, bass seems pretty simple. Four stings, one note at a time, how hard can it be? The answer is, not hard at all. Generally, the bass is not a solo instrument. Ask yourself, "do I need to be in the spotlight all the time, feeling the love and devotion of all those who surround me?" If the answer is yes, the bass guitar is not for you.
