P.T. Barnum would love Jared Fogle.

Fogle gained fame as the man who says he went from 425 to 190 pounds eating two Subway sandwiches every day for a year.

Subway promotes Jared around the country in commercials just as Barnum paraded Jumbo the elephant. I'm sure the blue jeans Fogle carries with him to show how much weight he lost are headed for the Smithsonian. When the museum isn't displaying them, it can use them to tarp the reflecting pool at the Lincoln Memorial.

Subway has mercilessly exploited Fogle, teasing overweight Americans with the pipe dream that they, too, could lose 200 pounds by waddling to Subway and eating a foot-and-a-half of bread everyday.
