Writing is important to me. It always has been. This significance is understandable when you consider that my father, Jack, was the chief correspondent for the Associated Press in St Paul, Minn., while I grew up.
Everyday for 20-plus years, I heard from my father about the importance of learning to write. He said it was a skill useful in all walks of life.
He was right.
