Reliever Jeff Nelson had the good fortune to be on the 1998 Yankees, who won an A.L.-record 114 games. He also happens to be on the Mariners, who might end up threatening that mark. But calling Nelson merely a witness to history isn't fair. He was an active participant on that Yankees club, and he's more than a solid contributor for Seattle.
