In the 1950s, we married young, and generally did not have premarital sex, let alone live together before the wedding night. The way things are now--a prolonged period of living together and physical intimacy before marriage--that takes away the initial excitement of the first couple of years of marriage. It was so exciting when we got married and could sleep together! That new toy can sustain a marriage for the couple of years until the babies are born, and then the thrill about babies takes over.
