SARASOTA -- With all of its inexperience on offense, Southeast High is relying on its defense to win football games.
That and running back James Shelley. Shelley ran for 158 yards and set up both touchdowns in the Seminoles' 17-0 win over Booker High in a Class 3A-District 8 game Friday night at Tornado Alley.
The 'Noles (3-2, 1-1) limited Booker (1-3, 0-1) to 104 yards. Todd Bunce had two sacks and came up with a key fumble recovery at the Tornadoes' 25.
"The defense has to play well and win games for us," Southeast coach Paul Maechtle said. "We can't lose a second game in the district." …
