Midland Is Biggest CMBS Servicer.(Midland Loan Services)(Brief Article)
Midland Loan Services has emerged the leading servicer of commercial mortgage-backed securities, with a CMBS servicing portfolio of $45.1 billion as of June 2001, based on a survey of nine firms by the Mortgage Bankers Association.
The trade association reports that First Union Securities was the runnerup, with a CMBS servicing portfolio of $38.6 billion, followed by ORIX Real Estate Capital Markets, with a $29.6 billion CMBS servicing portfolio. GMAC Commercial Mortgage Corp., currently the leading servicer in the commercial mortgage- servicing niche (with a total servicing portfolio of $107.7 billion), declined to participate in the survey, the MBA reports.
