* "Let's Start Numbers" and "Optical Illusions Lab" educational kits Lettering contains lead.
Products: 160,000 kits sold 2/99 to 5/01 at various book chains, warehouse clubs, and other stores for $13 to $20. "Let's Start Numbers" kit has blue and red cover with dog on front and contains interactive book that uses exercises and activities to introduce children to numbers. Clear acetate stencil sheet (which contains lead) is part of packet of activity pieces. Back of kit reads, in part: "This product is suitable for use only by children over 4 years of age." "Optical Illusions Lab" kit has multicolored cover with geometric shapes and reads, in part: "Only for use by children over 8 years of age and under adult supervision." Black pen comes with activity book and various shapes and images used to perform optical experiments. Gold paint on pen (bearing words "Kasy's Extrafine") also contains lead.

* Peg Perego "Prima Pappa," "Roller," and "Martinelli Pappa and Nanna" high chairs When seat is reclined, it creates a space between the armrest and backrest that could entrap head or arm.
Products: 325,000 high chairs sold 6/96 to 10/99 at stores including Babies "R" Us, Right Start, and Burlington Coat Factory for about $180. Recalled high chairs have a seat that can be raised or lowered and a lever on back of chair that allows seat to be tilted. High chairs with 9-inch armrests are not subject to recall. Model name appears on footrest or seatback. Sticker on brace connecting front and back legs reads in part, "Peg Perego" and "Italy." Peg Perego and the Consumer Product Safety Commission have received 51 reports of entrapment. Three children suffered scratches. There have been no reports of suffocation.
What to do: Call manufacturer toll-free at 877-737-3464 or visit www.perego.com for free replacement armrests. Consumers should not return the high chair to the store where purchased.
