Changes to Adtech's operations, including relocating its assembling and configuration unit, are imminent, sources say.

Spirent PLC, the United Kingdom-based telecom parent of Adtech, indicates that the slowdown in the tech sector may force the company to look at managing its resources more efficiently. And with the downturn expected to last longer than first-quarter 2002, the company plans to curtail production to its current demand.

Revenues for the telecom-testing division are down 25 percent this year compared to last year's levels, says Eric Hutchinson, finance director of Spirent.
