One of Kansas City's Internet pioneers has been sold to a San Diego software company.

HNC Software Inc. has acquired Lenexa technology company ClaimPort Inc. in a $3.2 million cash transaction Formerly known as UniClaim, ClaimPort was a spinoff of Unicom Communications, one of the area's first Internet companies.

HNC Insurance Solutions, a division of HNC Software (Nasdaq: HNCS), will manage ClaimPort, said John D'Alusio, senior vice president of strategic business development for the division, based in Irvine, Calif
