Delinquencies on home equity loans nationwide increased from year to year in both the first and second quarters, according to a report by the American Bankers Association. The numbers in the report have not been seasonally adjusted.
Delinquencies in the first and second quarter of this year were at 1.32% and 1.18%, respectively. Delinquencies for the same quarters last year were at 1.13% and 1.06%, respectively.
Likewise, the delinquencies in the home equity lines also increased from year to year for both quarters. This year, the lines during the first and second quarter were at 0.76% and 0.64%, respectively. Last year, they were at 0.68% and 0.62%, respectively.
