Aptagen, Inc. announced today the addition of Dr. Ronald R. Breaker to the company's scientific advisory board. Dr. Breaker is a world-renowned biochemist and molecular biologist currently employed as an Associate Professor of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at Yale University (New Haven, CT). Dr. Breaker received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Purdue University in 1992, and since then has been published over fifty times in many of the world's top scientific journals, the most notable of which was his cover-worthy article in Nature Biotechnology magazine entitled "Immobilization of RNA Switches for the Analysis of Complex Chemical and Biological Mixtures." He has presented lectures on biochemistry more than fifty times, serves on the advisory boards for four major biotechnology companies in addition to Aptagen, and is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards such as the Packard Fellowship, Hellman Family Fellowship, and the SOF Travel Award for Outstanding Research from the Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla, CA). Dr. Breaker's role will be to provide scientific council to executives and management on how to best proceed with scientific developments arising from the company's Gene Forge(R) custom gene synthesis platform, Protein Genesis(TM) molecular evolution platform, and Emerging Sciences Group.
