- Sulzer Metco, a global leader in surface technology, and NewTech Group International Inc., a Canadian R&D company, have reached an agreement to jointly develop technology as well as materials for brakes rotor surface modification purposes. These applications are to be used in various industries, starting with the automotive sector. The two companies have been working together for the past two years on a rotor surface modification concept for automotive braking applications.
The recent achievements of enhanced performance during braking applications have caused the two companies to sign a memorandum of understanding to work together to develop materials and technology, as well as to jointly commercialize the technology. The target markets chosen are manufacturers of passenger cars, trucks, buses, tractor trailers and industrial machinery.
