Hays County, San Marcos receive higher bond ratings.(Brief Article)

Hays County and the City of San Marcos hope economic development efforts benefit from positive news recently released from two financial analysis companies.

Hays County's bond rating has been upgraded from A-1 to AA-3 by New York-based Moody's Investor Services. Moody's Investor Services is part of Moody's Corp., which provides credit ratings, research and analysis.

Hays County Judge Jim Powers says the rating is the "best rating the county has ever had."

"We're taking care of the people's business financially by managing our money well and maintaining high reserves," Powers says.
