DALLAS MAVERICKS: Coach Don Nelson will spend the preseason deciding how to use his revamped bench. Last season, Nelson had to ride his starters too hard, especially SG Michael Finley, who led the league in minutes played. By the end of the playoffs, Finley and PG Steve Nash were exhausted. F/C Danny Manning, PG Tim Hardaway, SG Adrian Griffin, C Evan Eschmeyer, PG Darrick Martin and PG Khalid El-Amin have been brought in to bolster the bench. The Mavericks upgraded everywhere except at center, where the team lost Calvin Booth in free agency.
