Fatigue and burnout are two words that creep into the Winston Cup vocabulary this time of year. The season ends with races on 20 consecutive weekends, though that stretch was interrupted September 16 when the New Hampshire 300 was postponed, like most major sporting events, because of terrorist attacks.
Still, the season will close with 10 straight races, and the revised schedule runs through Thanksgiving weekend in New England. Can't you almost see the snow falling and smell the turkeys deep frying in the garage area?
