This was Bob Davie's most talented team--even he said so. But after two games it's clear Dame will have a hard time just getting into a bowl.
It's Monday of Michigan State week. Practice at Cartier Field on the east side of Notre Dame's campus barely has begun, and already the pads are popping. Normally, Irish coach Bob Davie allows time for sweat to build before any heavy hitting is done. But today the players are banging those pretty gold helmets in an all-out scrimmage.
