Everyone agrees that watching Michael Jordan play again certainly would be fun. But even if he returns, Wizards fans don't agree on what that would mean for their team's playoff chances.
"One man cannot turn the Wizards around--not even the great MJ," writes Bernard Green of Washington. "Even with MJ in the lineup, I believe the Wizards would need at least five years before they make the playoffs. Does MJ have five years left in him? Since he is turning 39 in February, I doubt it."
Scott Bradley of Dallas thinks Jordan's efforts as a Wizards executive could bear more fruit than his performance as a player.
"I'm convinced Jordan's only contribution to the team will be his drafting of Kwame Brown," Bradley writes. "MJ is not what he once was, and his yo-yo emotions (retirement vs. his need for competition and challenges) only make a mockery of his legacy. Jordan's return would further cripple--not enhance--Washington's future. He would take shots and minutes away from two of the team's most promising players, Richard Hamilton and Courtney Alexander. His presence would slow Brown's development, since the ball would go through MJ on every play and he would take every crucial shot when a game is on the line."
