HANOI, Oct 1 Asia Pulse - Vietnam exported more than 13 million tonnes of crude oil in the last nine months of this year, earning nearly US$2.65 billion, according to the General Statistics Office.
Compared to the same period last year, exported crude oil volume increased more than 17 per cent and turnover, 6 per cent.
The country plans to ship abroad 17 million tonnes of crude and earn an export turnover of US$3.45 billion this year.
Since the first tonne of crude oil was exported in April 1987, Vietnam has sold 100 million tonnes overseas.
Crude export was weighed at 5.08 million tonnes in the 1986-1990 period and rose six fold to 30 million tonnes in the 1990-1995, and 60.5 million tonnes in the 1995-2000.
