BRISBANE, Oct 1 Asia Pulse - Commonwealth Secretary General Don McKinnon is to visit Brisbane today to meet with Queensland Premier Peter Beattie to discuss the postponed CHOGM meeting, which was due to be held in the Queensland capital from October 6-9.
He will also thank the team behind the organisation of the postponed Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The Brisbane forum was called off last Friday following the withdrawal of the prime ministers of Great Britain, India and Canada concerned over global instability following terrorist attacks in the United States.
The Queen's visit to Canberra, Queensland and South Australia was also called off.
Mr McKinnon will meet with Prime Minister John Howard in Sydney tomorrow to discuss plans to reschedule the meeting to go ahead early next year.
