With a survey showing most employees face personal stress in the current down market, Dr. Richard Chaifetz, specialist in employee assistance, says the best solution for companies is to extend work-life benefits. Dr. Chaifetz is Chairman and CEO of ComPsych Corporation, which polled employees at its various corporate clients on personal issues that cause them the most stress while at work. Leading reasons include personal finances at 36 percent, and pressing personal chores, such as picking up dry cleaning or taking the car for an oil change, at 20 percent.
