It doesn't take an expert with a college degree in urban planning to know that sidewalks should be built around schools, especially elementary schools.
That's where the kids are. They ride bikes and walk to and from school on weekdays. They play at school on weekends. We'd rather keep them out of the path of cars while they're doing it.
Here's the problem in Englewood. Two of the community's three public elementary schools -- Vineland and Englewood -- have no sidewalks around or near them.
