Why you should watch: Until last Saturday, there were all sorts of compelling reasons to tune in to this game. Fans could find out if Wazzu was for real, or if UCLA could continue its improbable march to the BCS title game. Now, however, it isn't quite as important. But, honestly, it's the best game on this week's docket. If there were a playoffs system, the Bruins and Cougars still would be fighting for the Pac-10 championship and an automatic bid. Because there isn't, the teams merely are jockeying for a possible spot in one of the BCS bowls.
UCLA game keys'
* The good old days. Remember when we were marveling at UCLA's newfound defensive pop? That wasn't the case in last week's loss to Stanford. UCLA must get it going again, or the high-flying Cougars will thrive.
* QB stability. After Cory Paus left the Stanford game in the first half with a hand injury, Scott McEwan rallied the team with 221 yards passing. The Bruins will need a full game of high-quality play no matter which player is under center.
