BALTIMORE ORIOLES: LHP Matt Riley, who missed the season after undergoing elbow surgery, has been impressive in his early appearances in the fall instructional league and could be a factor in the race for rotation jobs in 2002. Riley has yet to regain 100 percent of his pre-surgery velocity, but he has been clocked in the high 80s and is on target to be at full strength by the time spring training begins.
