WINDSOR, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 2001
William L. Tindall, senior vice president of Retirement Services at American United Life Insurance Co. in Indianapolis and a veteran in sales and marketing of retirement plan products, has been elected chairman of the LIMRA International Board of Directors for 2002.
"Bill has served on the LIMRA board since 1999 and his election as chairman reflects the board's confidence in Bill's strong leadership," said Richard A. Wecker, president and CEO of LIMRA. "It is also an indicator of our success in extending LIMRA's range of influence and expertise beyond life insurance into the wider world of financial services and products."
In addition to its well-known life insurance research, LIMRA conducts industry-wide studies in a number of areas, including retirement issues, annuities, long-term care and disability insurance, group insurance, technology and strategic issues of the financial services industry.
Tindall was elected at the LIMRA International annual meeting in Toronto Oct. 29-30. The board also elected 10 new members, including two from member companies in France and China.
After graduating from the University of Puget Sound, where he was a James S. Kemper Foundation Scholar, Tindall worked with the Kemper Insurance Group in a variety of personal and commercial lines underwriting positions. He joined Mass Mutual in 1970 as a pension sales representative and held a series of sales management positions until 1987, when he was named vice president, pension management marketing. In 1993 he assumed the position of senior vice president, pension management sales.
